Contribution to TURBINE

Biometric recognition will play a key role in many security applications as well as future consumer lifestyle and healthcare applications. Establishing someone’s identity is the key for accessing multimedia, health record and other sensitive information, audit trails, and many other applications. In all of these applications it is essential that privacy is respected in the best possible manner. The principal contribution of Philips is to address the privacy issues by so-called Privacy Enhancing Technologies. Related to this work, Philips has initiated a venture called Philips priv-ID with the goal to market private identity matching solutions such as developed in the TURBINE project.
